Beautiful lines by a Kashmiri poet. A friend from Kashmir shared it with me.
Who can resist the lovely, juicy apple variety from Kashmir?
I love roaming around Athar's Apple Orchards in Anantnag.
The cuisine of Kashmir is very different but delicious! I would love to share the dishes I have become fond of.
The latest addition to whatsapp stickers are Kashmiri catchphrases with the cutest cartoons.
As an outsider, I have always been awestruck at the deep sense of camaraderie, love and affection that is expressed among Kashmiris. Strangers who come knocking at homes are treated like neighbours, neighbours are treated like relatives, and relatives are treated as immediate family. I find this unique as I have never seen such open display of affection and that too so soon for persons who are not part of the immediate family.
In my limited but varied interactions with Kashmiri households, I have this common observation that in usual circumstances you meet with anyone once, you become their 'jaan' or 'jigar' for all times to come!
